Social Spaces
Written by Dr. Jerry Stein
Learning Dreams is excited to partner with Social Spaces, a U.K. organization dedicated to helping community advocates use creative and unexpected methods to mold their communities into thriving places.
By offering free workshops, publishing a book on innovative neighborhood organizations, and supporting research on innovation in communities Social Spaces hopes to create a supportive, linked network of community activists worldwide.
Co-founders Tessy Briton and David Gauntlett have created some really amazing projects related to community capacity building. Check out the Travelling Pantry, a free community consulting and research effort of Social Spaces that is traveling across the U.K. this fall.
Social Spaces recently published the book Hand Made – Portraits of Emergent New Community Culture highlighting the work various organizations including (we are proud to say) Learning Dreams.
The first edition of the book, along with more information about Social Spaces is available on their website.
