Learning Dreams
Creating a Culture of Learning
What We Do
Learning Dreams builds a culture of learning for those cut off from educational success.
Rooted in the community, we appeal to youth and families as unique individuals, each with their own dreams to grow and learn.
Working together, we find out what really motivates people, and we connect them to mentors, programs and learning networks that creatively respond to their dreams, which, in turn helps build a foundation for their educational success.
Our Impact
Individuals Learn
Individuals are motivated by their passions. We help people discover their dreams and connect to learning opportunities to make their dreams a reality. This opens up new life paths for participants and builds a culture of learning in their lives.
Youth Thrive
We work with youth groups and schools to help staff transform the lives of their youth. We connect the staff to their own deep motivations, and they in turn use our methods to help their youth discover their dreams, overcome obstacles, and create a successful path forward.
Communities Grow
The heart of our work is community building and connecting. Starting with the dreams of participants, we creatively seek out people and resources in the community that support these dreams. This changes the community, leading to a renewed culture of learning for everyone.
Organizations Transform
Youth groups, libraries, public schools, and others partner with us to find exciting ways to engage their communities in learning. Our methods transform the work and the outcomes of these organizations by building on the dreams and passions of the participants and staff.
“Learning Dreams pushed my understanding about what libraries are in a ways other outside organizations couldn’t.
They facilitate learning in much the same way that we are . . . but more.”
Katherine Debertin, Librarian, Hennepin County East Lake Library
“The partnership with Learning Dreams has been eye opening. For our staff to be able to empower youth, they must have their own goals.
With Learning Dreams, we are setting goals and taking steps toward (them), so we are doing what excites us most.”
Tony Sanneh, President and Executive Director, Sanneh Foundation
